In Greece hotels have not yet adopted the “star-rating system” but are instead allotted a relevant category. A comparison between categories and stars is given here after:
In Greece most hotels of all categories in double rooms have twin beds. You can rarely find a large French bed.
Single rooms are very few and often badly situated. Sometimes during the high season a double room used for single is offered.
There are almost no triple rooms. Usually a double room is offered with an extra bed.
Rooms have view all around the building. Sea View rooms are on request and there are more expensive.
Half Board includes Breakfast & Dinner.
Sun beds and umbrellas, water sports and sports in general are not always included to the price. You have to ask what are the services offered to each particular hotel.
Check in time is 14:00 and check out time is 12:00
Appartments, Studios & Villas
Appartments
2 room apartments consist of two bedrooms, kitchen with dining corner and shower/WC.
3 room apartments consist of two bedrooms, living room with two sofas where 2 persons can sleep rather comfortably, kitchen with dining corner and shower/WC
All apartments have balcony or veranda where meals can be taken.
Studios
Consist of one bedroom, with kitchenette corner, shower/WC.
Some studios are bigger and consist of one bedroom, living room with a sofa where a third person can sleep, open kitchenette, shower/WC, balcony or veranda.
All have a Balcony or veranda where all meals are taken.
Villas
Each villa is different from each other. Some are small cottages that can sleep 3 to 4 persons others can sleep up to 8-10 persons. They usually have a dining room with open kitchen, one or more bathrooms and showers according to the number of bedrooms.
All have a balcony or veranda and always a parking place. Most villas are surrounded by a nice garden.
